MHA, the Japanese giant behind the likes of Apple’s iWork, Adobe Illustrator, and even the popular iPhone and iPad app, iWork for Android, is bringing its virtual reality expertise to the VR world with a VR wallpaper app.
The company is currently developing a VR-themed wallpaper app for the HTC Vive headset, which is due out this summer.
The HTC Vive is designed to take full advantage of the Vive’s capabilities, but it’s still early days in terms of what the VR wallpaper application will look like, according to a MHA spokesperson.
The app is already available on the HTC Store and will be available on Google Play, but users can also download it for free via a QR code on the headset itself, which can be scanned by HTC’s Virtual Reality Hub app.
The QR code, which the company said was used by the HTC team to ensure the app’s security, is displayed on the device when the user connects to the headset.
“We are currently working on an application for HTC Vive and the HTC VR Hub, so we’re not yet ready to announce any new details about the app, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we have any new news,” the spokesperson said.MHA is also working on VR wallpaper apps for Apple, Microsoft, and Oculus Rift, but none of these apps are currently available on a Vive.
MHA currently has three HTC Vive wallpapers available to purchase, with the HTC Touch Cover, the HTC H2, and the Vive Tracker.
It’s unclear if any of the three wallpapers are currently free to download.
